Let’s Get Talking, Let’s Make Friends!

Face to Face provides an amazing opportunity for children to meet other students and carry those friendships into the school year. The main priority of the class is to provide a safe environment for kids to explore and practice their ability to be social with friends and have a lot of fun.

Face to Face is a child-centered social skills program for students who could improve upon a variety of abilities leading to better social and communicative relationships with friends and family. Parents of students who have worked with us notice a dramatic increase in their child’s interest in others, in their desire to communicate and ability to have conversations and to make new friends.

Face to Face is designed to teach children what friends really are, how to make them and how to enjoy them. The class will incorporate movement, simple dance steps and physical group games that incorporate team work, physical coordination skills and sensory integration. Physical movement and dance have an amazing ability to develop confidence and more natural and comfortable mannerisms, especially during conversation.

Students will learn about and practice;
➢ How to introduce themselves to others and start interacting as peers
➢ How to ask questions, make comments, choose topics in conversation
➢ How learning about each other through conversation builds friendship
➢ How to ‘Hang out.’ What does that mean? How and why do we do it?
➢ How to do simple dance steps and improve coordination
➢ How to feel comfortable, engage and have fun in a social setting
➢ How to let loose and be silly with their friends
➢ How to be a good sportsman (cheering, loosing, congratulating)
➢ How to work as a team; encourage and engage others, using eye contact

Groups are forming right now for ages 2-20
And will continue to form during the year.
